BSA Guns UK Ltd has reported the theft of 81 FAC-rated PCP air rifles while they were being transported from the United Kingdom to Spain.
According to information circulated to the trade, the theft occurred in the Basildon area of Essex overnight on Thursday 19 February while the rifles were in transit.
The firearms involved comprise two models that are not available for sale in the UK market.
The first group consists of 51 BSA Scorpion SL-R rifles in 5.5mm (20 Joule), with serial numbers ranging from SSLR550001-VE through to SSLR550055-VE.
A further 30 rifles are Gamo Coyote Black Whisper models in 5.5mm (24 Joule), with serial numbers ranging from CY550026-VE through to CY550055-VE.
Members of the UK gun trade are being advised to remain alert should any attempt be made to sell or distribute these rifles.
