Hawke Optics has secured an exclusive distribution agreement with AirMaks Arms, the Czech Republic-based airgun manufacturer.
This partnership, set to commence in August, positions Hawke Optics as the sole UK distributor for the prestigious AirMaks Arms brand. Gun Trade Insider spoke with Jamie Ransome, UK sales director at Hawke Optics, to delve into the motivations behind this collaboration and what it means for
UK retailers.
“We have been big admirers of the AirMaks Arms brand for a number of years,” reveals Ransome, adding: “Over the past few months, we have developed a close relationship with Konstantin Kornievskiy, the owner, and Chris Roberts of CDR Guns, their current distributor. Their passion for the brand and their vision for success in the UK resonated with us.”
Ransome confirms the new arrangement will see Roberts retained as AirMaks Arms’s UK technical supremo – fronting a fully functioning UK service centre. “Chris’s involvement was pivotal to this deal. He knows AirMaks Arms inside out and approves every rifle before sale – this will continue.”
When asked about the qualities that made AirMaks Arms an attractive addition to Hawke’s distribution portfolio, Ransome is unequivocal. “Just look at the line-up! An amazing range on offer that oozes quality, functionality and modern design — what’s not to like? They really recognise what the modern-day airgunner is looking for.”
The AirMaks Arms product range includes the Caiman, Krait and Katran models. Particularly noteworthy is the latest Katran model, which features a striking Cerakote Olive finish. “This is special,” Ransome notes. “Offering tube design and various size bottle options, compact to full length, folding stock, bespoke upgrades such as interchangeable colour laminate stocks—the range really has something for everyone.”
The partnership is expected to yield significant benefits for both brands. “We see massive potential in AirMaks Arms. Hawke wants to take them to the level that the brand deserves to be at,” Ransome asserts. “We can look to achieve this with our brand backing along with the support of the trade. This is without doubt the key to success.”
UK retailers can look forward to robust support and availability of AirMaks Arms products. “As this issue of GTI goes to print, we have a number of programmed orders with the factory. We envisage our first shipment during August. Initially, demand may outstrip supply, making the first few months challenging but exciting. We will keep dealers and their customers’ expectations realistic, building stock holding as quickly as possible.”
The introduction of AirMaks Arms products aligns seamlessly with Hawke Optics’ strategic vision. “Combining Hawke and AirMaks Arms offers great opportunities for our dealers,” Ransome explains. “We have a number of promotions to incentivise our trade partners, which we look forward to rolling out in the coming weeks. We continue to invest and innovate, attributes that are also evident in AirMaks Arms. This can only be a good thing to ensure the brands remain in a strong position in the marketplace.”
Hawke is taking extensive steps to ensure a seamless integration and successful launch of AirMaks Arms products in the UK. “We are currently working on a new website that should be fully functional before the first shipment arrives,” Ransome informs. “Backed by upcoming editorial features and reviews of the range in leading titles such as Airgun World, we have all the processes in place for the best possible start to our joint venture.”
The exclusive distribution agreement between Hawke Optics and AirMaks Arms heralds a promising new chapter for both brands in the UK airgun market. With a shared vision for innovation and excellence, this partnership is set to offer UK retailers an exciting new product range, supported by robust infrastructure and dedicated service.
Konstantin Kornievskiy, AirMak Arms owner told Gun Trade Insider:
“I am glad to start our cooperation. And I believe that new prospects are opening up before us. Our collaboration with Hawke will help provide our customers with the opportunity to purchase quality air rifles and scopes at the same time. And I have to say thanks to Chris Roberts, who has done a great job to date and Chris remains an important member of the AirMaks Arms team.”
UK retailers should prepare for an influx of interest in AirMaks Arms products, as Hawke Optics continues to drive the brand to
new heights.
