In the ever-evolving world of airgun compressors, the Evo 310 emerges as a pinnacle of engineering excellence and innovation. Developed by Ernest H. Hill Ltd., this latest offering from British brand Hill Pumps embodies 182 years of meticulous research and development. For retailers that demand nothing but the best, this latest release could be set to redefine reliability and performance in the airgun compressor market.
ENGINEERING MASTERY AND SHEFFIELD CRAFTSMANSHIP
Manufactured and assembled in Hill Pumps’ Sheffield factory, the Evo 310 benefits from significant improvements that set it apart from its predecessors. One of the standout features of this new compressor is the automatic air pressure purge system. This sophisticated feature activates whenever the motor stops, either during cooling cycles or when a fill is paused or completed. This mechanism not only reduces the strain on the motor when restarting against high pressures but also helps expel moisture from within the unit, an essential function for users filling larger rifles or cylinders. The system works in combination with a new efficient motor which lowers the power requirement of the unit – particularly useful when operating from a generator.
This high-performance compressor makes light work of filling rifles, topping up a 200cc bottle from 100 to 200 Bar in a breezy one minute 30 seconds. Rifles or Buddy Bottles of 500cc from 100 to 200 Bar takes in under three minutes. Three litre cylinders from 200 to 300 Bar would take around 30 minutes.
Innovative design and durable components
Hill Pumps’ commitment to continuous improvement is evident in the Evo 310’s new and improved components, including a stainless-steel piston and valves made from what the Hill Pumps’ engineering team describe as “exotic self-healing materials” selected for longevity and efficiency.
Moreover, the Evo 310 features a highly accurate digital pressure sensor complemented by an analogue gauge. This dual-system ensures precision and eliminates the need for recalibration during major services, offering a seamless user experience. The compressor’s pressure settings are versatile, ranging from as low as 50 bar (755 psi) to an impressive 310 bar (4500 psi).
CUTTING-EDGE ELECTRONIC ARCHITECTURE
The Evo 310 also showcases a completely new electronic architecture, developed and tested in-house by Hill Pumps’ team of skilled software and electronics engineers. Remarkably, the printed circuit boards (PCBs) are manufactured locally in Sheffield, ensuring the highest standards of quality control. This new electronic system enhances the overall reliability and performance of the compressor, making it incredibly easy to service
and maintain.
CUSTOMER SUPPORT
For those seeking guidance, Hill Pumps offers a series of tutorial videos available on their YouTube channel. These resources, coupled with the support from their dedicated customer service team – also based in Sheffield – ensure that users can maintain their compressors with confidence and ease.
VALUE AND AVAILABILITY
Despite its numerous advancements, Hill Pumps has managed to keep the Evo 310 priced competitively at the same RRP as its predecessor, a remarkable achievement in today’s market. The Evo 310 is available for gun shops to purchase directly from Hill Pumps. For those looking to enhance moisture protection for their guns and compressors, Hill Pumps offers the Dry-Pac Pro, compatible with the Evo 310, EC-3000 evo, and the original EC-3000 models. This accessory is particularly beneficial for maintaining optimal performance and longevity of steel vessels and guns which may be particularly susceptible to corrosion
SPECIALISED OILS FOR OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE
To ensure the best performance and longevity of the Evo 310, Hill Pumps recommends using their specially designed crank and silicone oils. The Crank Case Oil (Red) is conveniently sized to fill the crank properly with almost the entire bottle needed for the initial fill, minimising the need for frequent top-ups. The Silicone Oil (Clear) is used continuously by the pump and should be replaced after approximately 50 hours of runtime, which is also the ideal time to change the Crank Oil.
The Evo 310 stands as a showcase of Hill Pumps’ dedication to innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction. With its advanced features, ease of maintenance and competitive pricing, the Evo 310 is set to become a favourite among airgun enthusiasts.
