Women Who Work in Fieldsports (WWWF) is taking a significant step forward in supporting women involved in shooting, hunting, and fishing by launching a comprehensive membership program. This initiative, announced recently, aims to foster a strong community among women in the traditionally male-dominated fieldsports industry.
Founded in December 2022 by Louisa Clutterbuck, Vanessa Steel, and Iona Campbell, WWWF has rapidly established itself as a key support network for women professionally engaged in various aspects of fieldsports. From managing shooting events and estate offices to operating game meat businesses and organising fishing expeditions, the organisation strives to create a welcoming and inclusive environment.
The new membership offers a range of benefits tailored to enhance both the professional and personal development of its members. These include priority access to event bookings, complimentary events, member-only gatherings, and monthly webinars. Members will also enjoy special discounts from partner brands, opportunities for mentorship, and access to a networking directory to connect with peers in the industry.
Louisa Clutterbuck, co-founder of WWWF and CEO of Eat Wild, shared her enthusiasm for the initiative: “Fieldsports can be incredibly isolating for women, but the engagement we’ve seen since our founding has been inspiring. We are eager to unite and uplift the women in this community, helping them to connect, learn, and grow within their fields. We also hope that businesses recognize the value of this network and choose to support their female employees by sponsoring their membership.”
The launch follows the success of the WWWF podcast, which has become a platform for highlighting the contributions of influential women in the sector. Notable guests have included Paula Lester from Country Life, with upcoming features on Anikka Purdey and SJ Hunt. The podcast not only showcases these women’s achievements but also offers valuable advice and shares insights into their career paths.
Women Who Work in Fieldsports is a dynamic movement committed to transforming the role of women in fieldsports. By advocating for rightful recognition and robust support, this membership program marks a critical advancement in their ongoing quest to empower women throughout the industry.
